Is the sharing economy really good for us?
I started thinking about this after the court case that Uber lost in California. The court case basically said the drivers were employees ( sort of ) and as such had rights like employees.
I have always thought that these people were effectively self employed drivers etc and as such they should be treated as such, but is that right for society?? You now have a company like Uber that has over 1 million drivers on it’s system, but hardly any staff. Thus Uber gets the upside but without social responsibility that a large organistion would normally have – food for thought:) All irrelevant anyway soon as Uber will replace all those drivers with driverless cars….but what about the other sharing services that “employ” people.
